My favorite comment on today's walk, from a teenage girl to her companions facing away from us, "did you not just see that!?" We also ran into and chatted with an ultrasound technician who'd done a couple of our scans and was excited to see how the boys turned out, which was nice.
We had a little fun attempting to shoot comparison pictures to show how much they've grown. It's really an amazing thing to witness.
Henry sitting in his bib after lunch today:
Similar shot, same bib, Henry at one month old:
I've taken to referring to Henry as our rare North American Guinea Moth, because he makes little squeaking sounds that remind me very much of a Guinea Pig and he is fascinated by lights (hence the moth bit). He often gets close to sleeping completely through the night (8 pm-ish to 5-6 am-ish). He has the most adorably annoying habit of smiling when you give him his pacifier, which makes the pacifier fall out, which makes him sad again... a cycle which can continue indefinitely if allowed. It'll be nice when they can use their hands more reliably, although Henry does make valiant efforts to put his own pacifier back in his mouth... he only rarely succeeds, but he tries.
Close-up of Jack's face today:
Close-up of Jack's face, just short of two weeks old:
Jack babbles a lot, loves to smile and stick out his tongue (and gets disappointed when you don't do it back). He can balance for a second or two in a seated position, and continues to be startlingly strong. He still has a lot of painful reflux, but meds manage it well enough that at least he can sleep. He usually only gets up once a night these days.
For the really shocking comparison, the boys on the ottoman, today and at just five days old...

We look forward to their continued acquisition of new skills. Though exhausting, they've been absolutely fascinating to watch so far, and as frustrating as they can be, we thoroughly adore them.
