As I should have figured after all that's gone on with this transaction, we're not closing on the house tomorrow. Someone at our lender apparently discovered an issue with the second appraisal (done because the first appraisal also had issues) during review of the loan documents that we were supposed to sign on Monday. As of yet, we haven't been able to sign the loan documents. The lender thinks maybe Monday. I'm not holding my breath.
So, we've had to submit yet another addendum (#7 in this transaction) to extend the closing date (for the fifth time) until August 2nd. Steve and I are regarding that new closing date with a large amount of skepticism.
Steve and I have been very lucky in our lives, so I'm certainly not going to go off on a "woe is me" rant... but we are incredibly frustrated with this process. It seems like things that are supposed to go smoothly in buying a house just haven't for us. I pride myself on being meticulous, but I don't think I could have foreseen any of this. Grrrrr...
