Last week, on the same day, we received two pieces of mail. One, a postcard advertising a newly listed home just down the street (a 2 bed, 2 bath for the low, low price of $500k) and the other, a solicitation from Bank of America to get a home loan from them. [sigh] It’s just not nice to tease us like that.

The Postal Gods have a Sick Sense of Humor
Steve and I have been lusting after houses since long before we were married and quite awhile before we even graduated from college. But, we live in an unaffordable market, don’t have the money for a down payment, and don’t even know where we’ll end up living long term (although, if the past is any indication, we’ll probably be in Santa Cruz longer than we anticipate, since we thought we’d be out of here five years ago). But we want a house of our own anyway and talk about it a lot.

Yes, that is an adorable house. But I agree, the time doesn't seem right, no matter what the marketing people say.
We have the same quandary! Hopefully one of these days our families will be able to have our own houses! We have no idea where we will eventually end up. My sis and mom want us to move to TN where houses are SO affordable compared to here. Yeah, we'll see what happens. It may come to something like that one of these days.
