Today began the indoctrination... initiation of the children into the culture of the parent. The boys woke up to festive decor, listened to dramatic readings of the golden book versions of the sacred stories, and wore the traditional garb of the season.

The fantastic Star Wars t-shirts for the boys are courtesy of our friend Melissa who, in addition to generally being awesome in every way, picked the perfect size for the boys to be able to wear the garments on their first ever May 4th.

Quilt made of old Star Wars t-shirts I wore throughout middle and high school:
An array of general memorabilia:
A table dedicated to my Micromachines Star Wars play sets:
And those pictures don't even show all of it. I have awesome Star Wars terrariums from my brother and sister-in-law, at least half a dozen posters, a large R2-D2 who guards our front door, Christmas decorations (like Santa Vader), and probably other things I'm forgetting.
Hopefully when the boys are older, not only will the toys be more than simply choking hazards to them, we'll be able to watch the movies together, do related arts-and-crafts, and cook from the Wookie Cookies cookbook that, of course, I have. Perhaps they'll humor Mom with this stuff for a few years before they decide she's a weirdo.
