On a quest to retrieve mulch, I found myself browsing plants while waiting for Steve to locate and bring around a flatbed cart. And there they were, hanging out in an unassuming rolling display rack... the perfect little groundcover plants for between our backyard pavers. I had been casually looking for the right thing for months, and there they were.
So, in addition to all the other weekend projects we had going, we now needed to do a bunch of planting.
While Steve worked on other things, I dispersed the little plants.
I then started planting. I have a careful, deliberate pace of doing things (less charitably known as being slow... luckily Steve is very patient with me) which tends to mean that projects I spearhead take forever. Thankfully, Steve joined me once he completed his other tasks and helped finish things up.
Hopefully the little plants will survive and grow to fill in between the pavers. I'm really excited to see how things turn out.
On a somewhat related note, the picture below may not look that exciting, but it's a real milestone. The first time we were able to eat lunch in our backyard (in chairs so new they weren't even completely unwrapped):
