2 Years, 6 Months

This would be cute...
... if it didn't consistently devolve into somebody's head getting bounced off the floor during an ill-fated wrestling maneuver.

It's been a rainy month, so the boys have spent a lot of time trapped indoors. However, they still wanted to play with their Christmas Jeep, thus...
Yeah, it's been in our laundry room for a month.

Here it is loaded with most of the contents of our pantry so the boys can't put their feet down:
It's weird, the contents of our pantry can only occasionally be found in the actual pantry...
(Henry, totally innocent of all charges of vandalism and mischief, at least according to him.)

Sometimes you have to get creative to keep things interesting when you're stuck in the house. Like, say, reading in front of the dishwasher instead of on a comfy couch or chair.
Luckily the Grandparents Loveridge got the boys a great indoor toy for Christmas: a floor piano!
Another exciting diversion arrived in the mail from Aunt Gail. A fantastic box containing new books, Lena the bemused stuffed llama, and awesome letter stickers. Henry contemplates where best to adhere his new treasures:
Hey, there's brother! How convenient!
The boys continue to enjoy preschool. They talk fondly about their teachers and friends and seem to be learning a lot. Henry is doing a great job identifying letters and loves to sing the songs he's learned. He's also picked up the habit of asking permission before doing almost everything with a very cute, "I can... ?" In contrast, Jack's newest utterance before doing something is "Have an idea!" Then he tends to run off. This makes his parents very nervous.

Jack tries to convince Mom to let him bring his purple block tower to preschool with him.
Pouring on the charm...
... still didn't work. Mom's so mean.

Mom tried to redeem herself by taking Jack to the children's museum. He loved the binoculars, though he did not believe Mom when she said they'd work better if he turned them around.
He wore them the entire visit. Even to play the light piano.
Sometimes you just have to gear up and go out in the rain. Jack (foreground) and Henry (background) find a great puddle for splashing:
Swingin' (and probably singin', knowing Henry) in the rain:
Jack has continued to advance his understanding of the world around him. Here he demonstrates where the car key needs to go to open Kasey's car:
Speaking of Kasey, here she is playing with the boys at our local park (Jack left, Henry right):
We spend a lot of time at the park. Spin, Daddy, spin!
Henry's turn (to turn)!
Henry, having a blast pushing Kasey on the swing:

On days the boys get to stay home with Kasey, they often get to go out on the town and explore. A favorite spot is the local bagel shop. One of Jack's favorite snacks there, a pickle!

Jack offering his wisdom from said favorite thinking spot:
The boys were fortunate enough to be invited to a birthday party at a children's gymnastics facility, which was great fun. Henry learned to do somersaults and was absolutely beyond thrilled about it.
The boys also enjoyed the rings.

Henry tries first:
Then Jack:
Henry dutifully shows Mom his cupcake for the picture...
... then digs in.
When they're not trying to grievously injure each other, the boys are pretty fun. Their abilities are exploding, they regularly invent new games, and they're quite funny. And they make their parents feel very, very old.
