A woman I’ve known for many years through rabbit rescue had two rabbits of her own: Violet and Arby. This woman has proven to be unstable both inside her head and in keeping a roof over it. To make a long story very short, she has not been providing a good home for these rabbits.
I felt that I had to do something. In her paranoia, she did not trust the rabbit rescue and insisted that I was the only one she trusted with her animals. So, I offered to take the bunnies into our home.
Arby is a tiny gray mini-rex rabbit with a lot of medical problems. I am working on talking the woman into allowing me to adopt him out into a better situation. I am considering him a foster for now.
Violet is a beautiful Silver Martin mix who has really stolen our hearts, so we decided to adopt her and keep her here permanently. We would guess that she’s somewhere between 5 and 7 years old, and is very alike in temperament to our boy, Buster. I wish the circumstances had been different, but welcome to the family, Violet!
(by the way, her eyes aren't red, they're dark brown, I just wasn't able to edit out the redeye with the editing software we had installed... Steve just upgraded to Windows 7 and we haven't gotten everything straightened out yet)
