Today we gave our 30-day notice to our landlord. We plan to move into our new rental in Santa Cruz starting the first weekend in October.
It’s an exciting time for us. We’ll be getting more space (including a very cute backyard) and such perks as in-unit laundry for the first time. But it’s bittersweet also. We have really enjoyed our current rental. It’s a short walk to downtown Santa Cruz (our new location will add around 10 minutes to that trip) and has been a very peaceful place to live. But, realistically, we never fit into this space to begin with. Most of our belongings are filling up a couple rooms in my parents’ house. We are hopeful that some (if not most) of that clutter will be able to migrate back up here.
We’ll see how things go. Moving is always a pain, but at least we’re not moving far.

When you get a chance, you might want to take some before and after move-in pictures of your new place.
Does that mean it comes with the washer\dryer machines, or just hookups?
Just the hookups. We'll have to cruise Craigslist and Ebay and see if we can get some inexpensive machines once we move in.
