School pictures came out and after showing them to the boys, I delicately asked if they wanted to participate in picture re-take day. "Nope!" they both said cheerily.
Henry, grade 2:
They came across a stuffed animal display in disarray at the local CVS and spent several minutes reorganizing. I wasn't even with them, they were out shopping with Steve.
Those are definitely my genes.
The boys had taken out the screen and climbed out their high bedroom window onto the fence separating our property from the next door neighbors. Wonderful.
Several of Jack and Henry's friends participated in Fall Ball through Little League. I had no idea such a thing existed or I would have signed Jack up. We'll try for next year. At any rate, Jack got to attend a couple practices to check it out and both boys went to a game. The Fall Ball team had selected "Savannah Bananas" as their team name (after the amusing exhibition team) so Jack got fully into his role as cheering section:
Jack, grade 2:
Always helpful to have a backseat driver in the frontseat with you at the arcade:
Out to pizza dinner with friends Miles and Charles after a showing of The Wild Robot:
I sometimes wonder if my kids are actually related to me. Then they do something like this:They came across a stuffed animal display in disarray at the local CVS and spent several minutes reorganizing. I wasn't even with them, they were out shopping with Steve.
Those are definitely my genes.
With hectic work and kid schedules, Steve doesn't get a lot of time to cook. But it does happen on occasion:
Showing off his leftover-packing skills:
There's nothing like kids to keep you humble. When Steve made sushi at home (which, for the record, was delicious), Jack commented, "Mobo's [our favorite sushi restaurant] is better than yours, but that's just because they're more talented."
Wait, what's outside the kitchen window?
Now there's two of them!?The boys had taken out the screen and climbed out their high bedroom window onto the fence separating our property from the next door neighbors. Wonderful.

On the sidelines with friend Bascom:
Lurking just over the horizon, it's almost...
... Halloween!
Terrifying.
