4 Years, 7 Months

As the pandemic drags on, Steve and I cannot even begin to express how grateful we are that the boys' preschool has remained open and hasn't had any covid cases. We are extremely lucky. This past month we stuck pretty close to home on the weekends.

Jack and Henry insisting Dad watch one of their favorite videos with them, The Muppets' Swedish Chef makes popcorn shrimp:
Upon receiving his kinetic sand as a Christmas gift from Mom and Dad, Henry immediately mixed his red and blue to get a lovely purple.

Here, he demonstrates the satisfying cylinder squish technique:
However, Henry is unsure about his dad's technique:
Heading out in pandemic chic, Henry is fabulous, as always:

Jack, loving his car mask and Hot Wheels shirt:
Jack loves wearing his masks and will wear them in the car even through we've made it clear he doesn't need to.

Jack wrote "Good"! I believe Steve spelled it for him quickly, but Jack sat and wrote by himself.
Jack recently informed us that we need to make a donut machine that puts sprinkles on them, concluding that, "I have the best ideas." Hard to argue in that case.

Henry the ham, styling his hair:
One of this month's adventures was trying to learn how to tame Henry's hair. Henry likes to have it long and I've told the boys they can wear their hair however they like, as long as they take care of it.
One small problem, though... having fairly straight hair that I keep short, I had no idea how to tell him to take care of his mass of curls.
Fortunately Aunt Jessica came to the rescue, giving suggestions that have worked out great, allowing Henry to live up to his full curly potential.
The boys spotted Steve's weights and wanted to work out like daddy does. So, get to work!

Henry, lifting:
Jack, pumping that iron:
Henry, steppin' up:
Jack tackling the step:
The bubble leaf blowers the boys got for their last birthday from Grandma and Grandpa Pool have continued to prove popular. Here, the boys take advantage of a bubble solution spill on the sidewalk to build up a mountain of bubbles:
For Valentine's Day, Kasey sent the boys a really fun heart ornament decorating kit where you scratch away the black coating to reveal color underneath. It was (and continues to be, we have quite a few more hearts to do yet) a very popular project.
Some silly boys and their goofy Mom show off their ornaments:
I don't know about that kid on the right... need to get him into theater or something:
Finally this month, the post-it-pocalypse. The boys decided it would be fun to coat our house in post-it notes. Since they were cooperating and being relatively quiet, Steve and I didn't intervene.
Okay, well, it started out quiet...
I didn't think Steve and I were overly permissive parents until I had to explain to the boys that the kids in Cat and the Hat aren't allowed to play ball in the house. After the part of the story that states it was "too wet to play ball," Henry asked, "Why don't they just play in the house?" Uh... 'cause some parents value their belongings but your parents have long since given up?
