3 Years, 5 Months

Housekeeping Notes: Southern California travel and Christmas pictures to come in the next blog post. Largely pictures of Jack in this post, but some great ones of Henry coming next time.

School!
Jack has developed a signature pose:
We are so fortunate that, at least most days, the boys enjoy school.

Jack very much wanted me to take a picture of this block. I don't know exactly why, but I can't argue that it's not a pretty awesome block.
Henry loves face paint and dress-up. Pictured below, Henry just after playing with the pre-k girls (who fawn over him and were kind enough to do his face paint):
Henry, our ray of sunshine.

Henry loves to sing, not always exactly the correct words. Our favorite not-quite-right rendition of a song so far was Henry's version of "This Land is Your Land," in which he changed the lyrics to "Your Land is My Land." Very on the nose for a toddler.

Home!
Fortunately, I'm not in this picture, because I was extremely angry that they dumped the entire contents of their toy bins into Henry's bed. Although, it was admittedly an impressive mess.
I constantly fall short of being a fun mom, leading to much exasperation from the boys. At one point recently, when I had enough and just wanted to sit down, Jack exclaimed, "You're supposed to play with us! You're supposed to be our mother!" Humph.

Ikea!
Too much shopping, Jack needs a break:
Back at home, Jack does his part to assemble the new furnishings:
Jack kept at it until he'd finished those stubborn screws, patiently picking up the little wrench every time he dropped it (which was often given the fine motor demands of the task).
Ta da! Our own... home gym?
Our inscrutable Jack.
