2 Years, 9 Months

This month we got a visit from Grandma Loveridge. She was able to see the boys' drumming concert at preschool (which was actually quite fun) and hang out for awhile.

Story time:
Grandma's visit started out exciting, with this amazing rolling cooler she loaned us, which Mom and Dad foolishly thought was for transporting beverages, but was clearly intended for transporting toddlers.
Things got even more exciting from there. Grandma brought the boys awesome rolling suitcases (with matching duffel bags). Jack was ready to hit the road, announcing that he was going to Grandma's house:
Henry's suitcase is very talented, carrying his stuff and doing the driving too!
Yes, our house is as loud as one might infer from that picture.

The Jeep is not only useful for transporting suitcases. It is also great for loading up and sitting on the contents of what was once Mom's carefully organized pantry (sigh):
Wild creatures, I'm surrounded by wild creatures:
In a moment of relative calm and quiet, the boys (Henry left, Jack right) do a play dough cooking demonstration:
Taking a break from mischief making, Henry cuddles his animals, Jack is "reading on my phone:"
Taking time for the arts:
Okay, enough of that, back to chaos. Eating watermelon out of toy bins they've emptied all over the floor:
Jack is plotting with his watermelon:
Speaking of Jack...

Jack!
Astronaut Jack (sadly, shortly before he chipped a tooth on the handlebars of this particular park attraction... oops...):
Selfie with Mom (and her sunglasses):
Jack is an industrious little fellow. I left the room and returned to find him attempting to solve the problem of how to get his balloon down from the ceiling:
Jack continues to be a clever little fellow. He swiftly pulls the correct keys from our key rings to open our front door, mailbox and gate. He knows how to put the car key in the ignition and turn on the accessories. If he could reach the pedals, I'm certain he would have driven away by now. He is very determined to do everything himself, and if he was just a bit taller, he might actually be able to do so.

... using a net bag as a very fetching hairnet...
... and, finally, job-site-ready Jack.
Safety professional Daddy is very proud.

Henry!
Being a mature little man, sitting on his own for the first time to get a haircut:
Being so good, gently petting Kiwi the rabbit:
The most exciting bottle cap in the world:
Henry's enthusiasm for things is seemingly boundless. He gets extremely excited and animated about everything from an amazing new toy to a simple bottle cap.

Henry is a well-mannered little dude. He likes to introduce himself with a cheerful, "Hi, I'm Henry!" He also enjoys shaking hands and saying either "nice to meet you!" or "how do you do!?"

Henry, rocking piggy rider:
Tiger Henry decked out in his jewelry:
Artist Henry, drawing in our front yard with chalk:
Chill Henry:
I suspect Henry misses being swaddled when he requests to be wrapped up like this:

Adventures in our Favorite Place: The Park
Henry having a very serious talk with Jack on the swing:
My boys, snacking and observing the park activities (Henry in orange, Jack in blue, Dad in plaid):
Go, Daddy! We'll catch you!
"Catch me, Henny!"
Henry, happy balance biker:
Jack, gliding to a stop:
Henry has always loved swings, and now demands to be pushed "super high!" on the big kid swings:
Mom, Jack and Henry, exploring some disused train tracks:
Onward to more adventures we go.
