I should know better by now than to try to lay down...
(headbutts courtesy of Henry, tooth-poking by Jack)I turned 35 in the middle of last month. Henry enjoyed opening my birthday mail, while Jack found the single-page "books" inside very disappointing:
But Jack did enjoy ferrying the cards to Mom:
The boys also enjoyed getting birthday ice cream with Mom. Henry's face when asked if he'd like more:
Jack offers up his spoon for an additional serving:
The boys' antics have become more varied over the past month. Their inventiveness and talent for mischief continues to amaze.
Jack reminds me of a manager at an office party, who never takes a pacifier but sure has had more than his fair share today, putting his arm around a somewhat unsure coworker:
The boys love visiting our local children's museum. One of their favorite areas is the fairly large play kitchen setup. I am a bit concerned about why Henry is hiding that pan behind his back...
Henry, enjoying his hat in the park:
Jack, seemingly aware that his Mom and nanny are amused by the positioning of his hat:
We're still working on teaching the boys to do chores. Pulling weeds with Dad:
Steve spends a lot of time cleaning up messes in the kitchen with a sponge. The boys have taken to "helping." Here, Henry cleans a door with his special sponge:
Jack does some sweeping, Henry hangs up a towel:
The boys have recently decided that they like wearing their sunglasses. Here, Dad (with Jack) shows that the boys' sunglasses definitely look better on the boys: Henry, also a cool cat:
Jack, already infinitely more awesome than his parents, wearing sunglasses, a Star Wars shirt, and Nanny Kasey's boots:
Jack's a big fan of those boots and hardly waits for Kasey to take them off before claiming them as his own:
Visiting Grandma and Grandpa
Henry delights in reading with Grandma:
Jack and Henry inspect a fun little plane (Grandmas have the best toys):
Jack gingerly navigates Grandma's toy truck across the coffee table:
Grandma also has the most fun chores, including preparing for planting. Grandma and Dad show Henry how to use his little rake:
Henry and Jack, now raking experts:
Jack was enthusiastic and actually did fairly well at shovel work with Cousin Camdan:
Boys on a roll! Henry points the way, Jack serves as car connector:
Just two little dudes, sitting on boxes, contemplating absolutely no mischief whatsoever (Henry left, Jack right):
But Dad, I promise if you open this guacamole, I'll get all of it in my mouth and absolutely none of it in my hair/eyes/nose/ears. (Henry with guac, Jack attempting to leave with the property with his prize)
Hey, you! You should totally get in this awesome stuffed animal bin with us! Henry beckons. Jack is sly.
Henry, Jack and Mom have a conversation on the front porch about the usual things... eating one's snack, drinking one's water, not eating rocks, etc.
Jack
Jack has become an impressively fast runner for his tiny size, and continues to be an avid climber. It's difficult for his ancient parents to keep up.
So much mischief, so little time, Jack takes a breather in his play tent with his beloved blanket:
Jack humors Mom in his insanely adorable R2-D2 sweater... as long as he can still play with his trucks once this silly picture-taking stuff is over:
When asked not to stand on the arm of the chair, Jack responds... what about just this one little bitty foot?
Jack, happy boy with his blanket and Daddy's slippers:
Lovingly inspecting his amazing pile of sand:
Thoughtful Jack at the park:
Master color-er:
All that activity requires some time out for contemplation:
Jack, wrapped in blanket, reading with Daddy:
Henry
Henry suddenly became adept at saying "yes" and "no" with accompanying nod and head shake. So far, it's incredibly adorable. I'm sure "no" will get old soon, though.
Showing off his choice of headgear, pajama pants:
Smiles, by Henry:
When Henry is happy, he really is sunshine incarnate.
Cozy cloaked Henry, with pointing assist by Jack:
A little Henry in a big park on a cold day:
Chase me! Henry is ready to leap into action.
Look, I redecorated!
Someone call for a Henry?
A happy Henry, picking flowers:
Final Thought for This Month
