Golden House on a Hill

Inspired undoubtedly by the home improvement greatness of his big sister, my brother and his lovely fiancee purchased their own fixer-upper. Okay, so I probably had very little to do with it, but eldest sister-type person that I am, I'm taking credit anyway.

Steve and I were thrilled to be able to walk through the house just a few days after keys were acquired. I think Jim and Brooke picked a fantastic project, and we look forward to watching (and helping with) their progress.

The house is on a hill, so what appears to be a petite, adorable one-story home from the front is actually a spacious two-story with a lovely backyard.
 I inspect the front room:
Amazing view of the bay area from their sunny kitchen:
I stood by that window for awhile and watched several Bart trains skirt along the bay... because I have approximately the same enthusiasm for trains that small children do.

I am really jazzed about the whole thing, as you can see:
Fortunately, Brooke is tolerant of my silliness.
Little brother already fixing things (the doorbell chimes, in this case):
It's a gorgeous house with tons of character. I am so ridiculously excited for those crazy kids. We'll try to help however we can. So far, Steve climbed around in the attic taking pictures, helped Brooke pull up some carpet, and assisted Jim in trimming a hedge. I... supervised. I'm an excellent supervisor.
