Miscellany (Proof of Life)

I'm still here and working on various projects around the house. I absolutely love this little house and it's been wonderful to finally have a hobby in fixing it up. Many of the things I've been doing lately don't look terribly impressive yet, so I haven't had much to post. So, have a butterfly from the backyard rose bush:

In one of our smaller endeavors, Steve and I ordered some hooks for the living room picture rail and put up a few pictures. I never feel that the house is small in my day-to-day activities, but I sure feel it when I try to get a good angle for pictures. Anyway, here's the result of our beginning picture-hanging activities:

The metal hooks wrap over the top of the picture rail molding, and the pictures themselves are hung on braided leather cord (very strong stuff). As per usual, I don't feel the photos do it justice; I'm thrilled with the look. At least this one little corner of the house is done.
