Steve got it in his head that he wanted a record player. My dad was kind enough to bring up one of his and get it into working order. We tested it on a classical record and everything sounded fine, so Steve and I went out and purchased a few records to begin building the collection. So far we have Muse, Metallica, AC/DC and some jazz. Anyway, putting on the Muse record (that has vocals), we realized the player was running a bit fast. Lacking a strobe light to do a proper speed test, Steve printed a simple template from online allowing us to count the revolutions. After consulting with my dad, Steve began tinkering.
I'm sure this warning is for other people.
Though it still sounds a tiny bit fast to me, it's pretty close now, and we've actually been enjoying it quite a bit. I admit I thought the whole idea was a little silly at first, but I was probably just fearful that records would begin to take over the house... which may still happen, I suppose.
Well, there you have it. I'm wrapping up my 8-day post-tax-season weekend. Back to work tomorrow. But the UC Santa Cruz plant sale is coming up this weekend, so there's likely to be a garden update coming soon.
