Demetri is a wonderfulrabbit. He is over 8 years old now and behaving like the old man he is... he sleeps a lot and is not in good health. But he has been extraordinary. One of my favorite pictures is of Steve, sitting in a chair reading, with one hand on the book and the other petting Demetri who would leap up into Steve's lap to be petted. People who don't have rabbits as pets probably think I'm nuts, but Demetri is incredibly special. Smart, sensitive and extremely affectionate, he is a wonderful little creature. He was diagnosed with a terminal infection over 4 years ago, but has such a strong will to live. The vet is always amazed by his condition and he is known as the "wolverine" (for his healing abilities) rabbit at the vet hospital. I can't say enough about him. Blind with glaucoma and mostly deaf, he has a lot of problems now. But he is adored by Steve and myself and everyone he meets. Whenever he passes on, he will truly be irreplaceable.
Our pet rabbit (Al) would never jump up to be petted, but he would sometimes jump towards you allow you to pet him. The one we have now (Jane) is very skiddish and does not like to petted at all.
They're all different. Of our current population, 3 are extremely affectionate and love people (Kuipo, Demetri & Buster) and 2 are more shy and not really interested in human attention (Johnny & Lola... although, Johnny has his moments where he enjoys a little bit of petting). Our three affectionate rabbits will all jump up to sit with us on the couch to be petted.

That looks like a very cute rabbit. Does the personality match the sweet face?
