So close...

I took my first CPA exam section last month after having been out of school for four years, and was pretty sure I hadn't done very well. And the official word is now finally in. I got a 72. Passing is 75.

On the one hand, I could be really frustrated that I came so close and didn't pass so now I have to take it again (including paying somewhere close to $300 in fees to retake the darn thing). But I'm choosing to take heart in the fact that my feeble post-college brain was able to do even that well.

So, on to the next exam, Audit and Attestation, which I'll take in late July. I rescheduled the test that I was supposed to take next week to October so that I'll have more time to study for each of the remaining three exams and hopefully pass them all the first time.

Sounds like a thrilling summer.

Congratulations! I agree that a score like that is impressive when you've been away from some of those issues for years.

Do they have online practice courses or other study aids that you could get as presents for birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion?

I have a set of review books which seem really good. They covered all of the items I was tested on. I just have a really bad memory.

It's rigged I say, RIGGED! :)

A coworker of mine got 74 on all 4 tests his first time through. Second time through was smooth sailing.

Good luck on the next one.
